ARIA: LOCOS POR LA Ópera 

Ária: Locos por la Ópera is TVE’s prime-time talent show devoted to lyric singing, produced by RTVE in collaboration with Gestmusic (Banijay Iberia) and adapted from the successful Dutch format created by Medialane.

My role on Ária revolved around a very specific musical challenge. I transformed contemporary pop songs into operatic versions, making them feel classical in color and gesture, while preserving the original melody, harmony, and structure. This ensured each piece kept its identity and recognizable melodic lines.

To achieve this, I shaped each arrangement with clear stylistic echoes of opera composers and aesthetics. Die With a Smile leans into its triple meter as a Viennese flavored waltz. Skyfall becomes a dramatic act finale somewhere between Puccini and Wagner. Viva la Vida resonates as a contemporary operatic language reminiscent of John Adams.

The show premiered on 22 December 2025 on La 1 and delivered around one million viewers per gala, with a TV share close to 9 percent.
