The Sagrada Família Christmas Concert has become a new musical classic in Barcelona. The edition held on 12 December 2025 was particularly meaningful, as it marked the opening of the Gaudí Year (2026), commemorating the centenary of Antoni Gaudí’s passing.
Over the years, one of the facets I’ve developed most consistently is arranging. An arrangement can be a faithful adaptation—respecting what audiences already know melodically and harmonically—or it can become a genuine re-composition, expanding the piece with a new structural and emotional perspective.
In my case, I’ve arranged around half a dozen Christmas carols across different seasons, and for this concert three of them were performed: “Santa Nit” (Silent Night), “El Noi de la Mare” (The Boy of the Mother), and “Joia en el món” (Joy to the World), in versions for orchestra, choir, solo soprano, and organ. The concert was brilliantly conducted by Marzio Conti and streamed globally.
I also feel truly honored to have contributed musically to two of the most emblematic spaces shaped by Gaudí’s genius: Casa Batlló and the Sagrada Família.
