LUX SPLENDENS

Lux Splendens transforms the entire Basilica of Montserrat into a unified immersive space. It becomes a sensory journey through a thousand years of history, faith, and culture.

Composing the original symphonic–choral score was an immense privilege. Rooted in the Virolai, I developed its themes across the three acts of this audiovisual oratorio to shape a clear, evolving narrative.

Our collaboration with the Escolania de Montserrat was magnificent, and the Basilica’s organ gave the music a sonority that was truly fitting for the space. I aimed to craft a musical language that feels both deeply personal and unmistakably universal.

Through image, light, music, art, and architecture, the experience reconnects past and present, inviting audiences to rediscover this millenary symbol from a new perspective. A seamless technical integration into the heritage—encompassing audio, lighting, and projection—enhances the experience in a way that feels native to the site.
