Furius Baco is PortAventura’s high-velocity launch coaster, a tongue-in-cheek vineyard experiment gone wild that propels riders from calm to chaos in seconds—Mediterranean setting, kinetic humor, and a full-throttle visual narrative.
Musically, it was great fun to compose: the brief asked for a Mediterranean flavour fused with mechanical/machine textures and a video-game wink—a pinch of Super Mario Bros., a hint of sardana, and playful rhythmic engines. Today I would write it very differently, but I wouldn’t change a single note of what I did then.
Furius Baco was my first attraction in the world of themed entertainment. I worked with François Bergeron as music supervisor (Thinkwell Design)—an experience that pushed me to think beyond the score and focus on the guest journey end to end.
It was also my first collaboration with Víctor Cavaller, Heiko Kraft, and Ignasi Guasch—three professionals who became references for me in this field and with whom I’ve been fortunate to keep collaborating over the years.
